The Paul Hindemith Orchestra Academy (PHO) of the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester offers selected young collegiate musicians an individually tailored educational experience of professional life.
The name of the Academy serves as a living memorial to Paul Hindemith, concertmaster of the orchestra from 1916-1923, and is a reminder of our rich historical traditions, which will be passed on to and enriched by our Academy members.

Support the
Frankfurt culture of sound!

The Paul-Hindemith Orchestra Academy (PHO), founded as an initiative of members of the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester, was created in order to help young musicians bridge the huge gap between their formal musical education and their future professional lives, while simultaneously fostering the culture of sound that the orchestra has developed and maintained over hundreds of years. The Academy program will soon become a fixture of the German orchestral scene and an important part of the Rhein-Main regional cultural landscape, thanks to the high quality of the program and the increased inflow of motivated, enthusiastic young musicians.
